Combining visual work and writing, Crowley’s work focuses on individual stories as inspiration for community engagement. She uses photography, writing, interviews (oral histories) as a subtle means to educate and transform preconceptions. Her training as a professional writer with her degrees in fine art and art history inform her artwork and her work as a teacher.
Projects include: People of the Central Area oral history and photography; Racial Equity oral history at Shunpike.org; Rhythm in Color - Jazz oral history and photography at the Seattle Public Library. Grants/awards include: Takt Kunstprojektraum Berlin; Jack Straw Studios, 4Culture.org, Office of Arts & Culture & Awesome Foundation Seattle.
